Ugur Sarman has over 12 years of experience in institutional sales with specialty in EMEA markets, covering US-based traditional asset managers, hedge funds, private equity funds and venture capital funds.
In addition to his advisory role at Greenstone, Mr. Sarman is serving as SVP of Institutional Sales at Marco Polo Securities, a US-based independent broker-dealer, where he is tasked with building and managing relationships with financial institutions, public and private companies across Emerging Markets as well as US-based institutional investors.
Prior to Marco Polo Securities, Mr. Sarman was employed by Auerbach Grayson, a global agency broker with access to Emerging and Frontier Markets, where his primary role was to provide market intelligence, research and corporate access on EMEA region.
Prior to Auerbach Grayson, Mr. Sarman worked at NBGI Securities, the brokerage arm of National Bank of Greece, where he spent significant time on research sales and trading functions with particular focus on Southeastern Europe.
Mr. Sarman started his career at Moody’s Investors Service (MIS). As a junior analyst, he monitored and reported trends in the U.S syndicated loans market.
Mr. Sarman holds a Bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning from Mimar Sinan University, Turkey and MBA in Financial Management from Pace University, New York. Mr. Sarman will complete CAIA Level 2 Exam in Spring of 2019 to acquire Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst designation.
