DB Insurance completes $1.65 billion acquisition of US insurer Fortegra

South Korea's DB Insurance has completed its $1.65 billion all-cash acquisition of Florida-based specialty insurer The Fortegra Group from Tiptree and Warburg Pincus, the largest purchase of a US insurer by a Korean non-life carrier. Fortegra will continue to operate independently as a wholly owned subsidiary, retaining its leadership team and distribution relationships as DB Insurance builds a broader US and European specialty insurance presence.
