Singapore's GIC has acquired a portfolio of 16 Marriott operated hotels in Japan, reportedly for approximately ¥125 billion ($800 million), reflecting continued institutional interest in Japanese real estate and hospitality. The midscale hotels operate under the Four Points Flex by Sheraton brand and were sold by funds managed by KKR. The deal comes amid record tourism, with foreign visitors to Japan surpassing 40 million for the first time in 2025.
