GIC expands Brazilian transmission platform with third Neoenergia agreement

GIC has agreed to acquire a 49% stake in seven Brazilian electricity transmission assets from Iberdrola subsidiary Neoenergia, the third transaction under a partnership that began in 2023 with the creation of the jointly controlled Neoenergia Transmissão platform. Once completed, the platform will hold 16 transmission assets spanning roughly 6,710 kilometres of lines, placing it among Brazil's five largest transmission companies.
