Mubadala Leads as MENA Sovereign Funds Deploy $102 Billion in 2026

Mubadala was the most active sovereign investor in the Middle East and North Africa, deploying $26.2 billion in the first nine months of 2026, according to Global SWF's 2026 MENA Playbook. Regional sovereign investors deployed $102 billion across 245 transactions, 39% of global state-owned dealmaking, with the U.S. receiving 45% of capital and technology the leading sector. At the current pace, MENA funds are on track to deploy $136 billion in 2026, which would be the second highest year on record.
